Peter Mitchell:
I started mountain biking when I was 13 with the local youth club and
over the winter tried a few mountain bike races and had little success but I enjoyed it nonetheless.
This progressed to track racing in the summer and for the first year, with little training, I enjoyed
some success as an under 14 and decided that cycling was definitely becoming my main sport

In not being a member of the National Sprint Squad, I was aware that a top quality coach would be a hard person to find in this country...until I met Lee Povey.

Jak Kenton-Spraggan:
I started track cycling in 2001 after being spotted by British Cycling’s Talent Team and although I was financially supported by the programme, I had no specific guidance in how to prepare, train and race track sprint events. By 2002 things came to a head and I was weighing up weather or not to continue participating in the sport, at which point I was introduced to Lee Povey.

Steven Lewis:
In 2002 I was 36 years old, living in Brighton and commuting to London every day to work as a lawyer. I also had two teenage step-daughters and a three year old son. As a 400m runner strength and conditioning is an important part of my training. However finding good coaches is not easy when you are not on the national team. A friend recommended Lee to me 18 months ago, we immediately hit it off and he impressed me with both his knowledge of training and his desire to learn as much as possible about my sport and me.

Chris Still:
I started working with Lee a year ago after my times had been static for a while. Never having worked with a coach before I thought I would give it a go, but wasn’t expecting much as I felt I already trained as hard as was possible. At first it actually felt like my training got easier, before I just went flat out every session, however Lee’s program involved all types of sessions and varied from week to week.
